Zircom Data Communications Ltd are pleased to announce that they have now completed one of their largest contracts to date, supplying and installing a high quality structured cable infrastructure for British Aerospace (BAE).
BAE Systems Electronic Warfare Division are relocating more than 1000 staff from their existing site at Stanmore (North London), to a major new site located close to Luton Airport.
Zircom have installed a Systimax structured cabling solution at the new location, which consists of office accommodation and laboratories. Zircom were responsible for installing approximately 8,800 outlets, fibre and copper backbone cabling.
BAE Systems required a high quality LAN cabling infrastructure in order to achieve full communication potential at the site to efficiently run demanding and mission critical applications. The Systimax solution was key to the success of the installation as it guarantees performance that is significantly higher than category 6 standards. Higher technical performance results in drawings and 3D models being delivered over the network promptly helping to support improvements in efficiency for BAE Systems.
“Due to the nature of BAE’s work it was vital that systems were run at the optimum level of performance, Zircom’s experience in delivering complex high performance cabling infrastructures and operating to demanding timescales was a major factor in achieving BAE’s objectives”, (BAE Spokesperson).
“We are pleased to have worked along side BAE Systems, we have ensured that the solutions, design and installation fully meet BAE Systems communication needs. Zircom have implemented a Systimax solution providing BAE Systems with the infrastructure required to support high bandwidth applications with the flexibility to readily accommodate physical changes to meet future business requirements”, (Zircom Director).
