Independent data and voice communication specialists - Zircom Data Communications Ltd, have now completed work assisting in implementing a system that will transform the NHS’s Data Centre’s patient record system. Zircom were responsible for the installation of the ‘CAT 6’ structured cabling system and extensive fibre optic connectivity which has enabled a new online patient record system that allows staff to easily access patient files increasing efficiency levels within the NHS.
The Data Centre holds records for NHS patients within the Kent and Sussex areas. The first phase of the project involved the installation of over 10,000 UTP cable terminations and 5,000 fibre terminations implementation.
The solution Zircom installed is designed to help the NHS’s system to deploy a quicker and more efficient online patient record system. Zircom ensured minimum disruption was caused during implementation as it was vital that the new system was rolled out as smoothly as possible. The application is now to be rolled out to the NHS hospital trusts in the Midlands and the Northwest as it has been a huge success in Tunbridge Wells.
“We are delighted to have worked on this National Health Service project aiding them to provide an improved, more reliable and efficient system for the data centre, ensuring the NHS is more proficient by reducing time delays and monetary costs therefore, ensuring the publics money is spent wisely with the effects being passed on to the general public,” (Graham Granville - Director, Zircom).
